1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PortfolioShield ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts to use PortfolioShield. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Service Description
PortfolioShield is a portfolio analytics and risk management platform designed for options traders. The Service provides:
- Portfolio health monitoring and scoring
- Options Greeks analytics (Delta, Theta, Gamma, Vega)
- Hedge management and recommendation tools
- Trade advisory signals and opportunity scanning
- Market context data (VIX, GEX, volatility regime)
- Integration with supported brokers (Interactive Brokers, Tastytrade)
PortfolioShield is a decision-support tool only. All analytics, signals, scores, and recommendations are provided for informational purposes. They do not constitute investment advice, and no trade should be executed based solely on information from the Service.
2.4 Behavioral Analytics. As part of delivering personalized signals and cognitive bias detection, PortfolioShield captures detailed behavioral events including navigation patterns, decision timing, inaction patterns, and cognitive bias indicators. This data is used internally to improve signal quality and, in anonymized aggregate form, may be shared with or licensed to research partners. Full disclosure is provided in our Privacy Policy — Section 6. You may opt out of the external data sharing pipeline at any time from Settings → Privacy.
3. User Accounts
You may sign in to PortfolioShield using Google OAuth. By signing in you authorize us to receive your name and email address from Google. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account and linked broker credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
You may not share your account or credentials with any third party. PortfolioShield reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in violation of these Terms.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
PortfolioShield offers multiple subscription tiers (Shield, Pro, Elite). A free Health Check is available at no charge subject to usage limits. Paid tiers are billed on a recurring basis.
- Billing cycle: Monthly or annual, as selected at signup
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the paid period
- Refunds: All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law
- Price changes: We will provide 30 days' advance notice of any price changes
Failure to pay may result in suspension or downgrade of your account to the free Health Check tier.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable securities regulations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or reproduce any part of the Service
- Introduce malware, bots, or automated scripts without prior written authorization
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its data without written permission
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or organization
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against violations, including account termination and referral to law enforcement.
6. Your Data
You retain ownership of your portfolio data and broker account information. By using the Service you grant PortfolioShield a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the Service.
We may use anonymized, aggregated behavioral data for research, product improvement, and commercial analytics purposes. Individual-level data is never sold to third parties. For full details see our Privacy Policy.
Broker credentials are never stored by PortfolioShield. Authentication with Interactive Brokers and Tastytrade uses OAuth tokens or API keys that you provide and that are stored encrypted.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. PORTFOLIOSHIELD EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS:
- Any warranty that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your requirements
- Any warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of market data or analytics
- Any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
Options trading involves substantial risk of loss. Past performance of any analysis or signal is not indicative of future results. You may lose more than your initial investment.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PORTFOLIOSHIELD AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits or trading gains
- Loss of data or portfolio value
- Losses resulting from reliance on analytics, signals, or recommendations
- Losses resulting from service unavailability or data errors
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by you to PortfolioShield in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:
- You breach these Terms
- We are required to do so by law
- Your use poses a security or operational risk to the Service
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Data retention and deletion rights are described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify you via email or an in-app notification
- Require you to re-accept the revised Terms before continued use
Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
